Popular Night Event Series
Set to Return for K to 8th graders

Area middle school students will get another chance for some nighttime organized fun during the upcoming Friday Night Mayhem event this weekend at Millsop Community Center.

The city’s recreation department and the Weirton Little Steelers Football organization are co-hosting the event set from 8:30 until 11:30 p.m.

“These events continue to be a nice draw, particularly because we give kids a chance to do so many different things in an action-packed few hours,” Program Director Kevin Elias said.

“As an added bonus, it’s a well-organized, adult-chaperoned event that raises money with the many local organizations the recreation department partners up with.”

The uniqueness of these youth-geared events is that local organizations provide the adult chaperons and help run the activities in exchange for a share of proceeds after expenses.

To date, nearly 500 youngsters have participated in the first events of the season.

Those attending can expect a variety of organized activities including kickball, wiffleball, dodgeball and basketball to a movie and dance.

Some refreshments will be included with each paid admission. Other concessions will also be sold at the event.

Admission to the event is $10 per student. Doors open at 8:25 p.m.

NOTE: Parents or Guardian must come into Mayhem event to REGISTER their children and they must enter building to pickup and check out participants at the end of the night.
