Wins 5-K Classic

   A field of 91 area runners, walkers and youngsters participated in the annual Marland Heights 5-K Classic on Friday, Aug. 21.

  The community race, hosted by the Weirton Board of Parks & Recreation, attracted runners from the Tri-State area, including 38 entries for the 3.1-mile stretch and 53 others who took part in everything from the two-mile fitness walk and youth fun run and other specialty races.
