Youth, high schoolers and even college-age players interested in a little competitive basketball action can get their four-player teams together now and register for the first ever Summer Season Tip-Off 3-on-3 Hoops Tournament NOW SCHEDULED for July 24 & 25 at Starvaggi Park in Weirton.

    Organizers say the DOUBLE-ELIMINATION tournament will feature a boys and girls division in each of the following grade groups -- 3rd/4th; 5th/6th; 7th/8th and High School. A college age division (18-22) will also be featured with proper ID required.

   The tournament format will include 15-minute clock running games with a five-minute intermissions between games. Three games will be scheduled on four half-courts each hour during the day events.

   Awards will be given to champions in each grade division. A cash prize will be awarded to the college winners. A minimum of four teams are needed to play in a division -- both boys and girls -- or that group may be scratched from play.

   The cost to participate in the tournament is $80 for each four-player teams.

    Pre-registration is required by visiting the Millsop Community Center or filling out and sending in the roster form with payment to Summer 3-on-3 Tip-Off, 3420 Main Street, Weirton.
